5th Place CSFL - Rice Lake

Super fun day on the water this past weekend fishing the CSFL Bassmania event on Rice Lake. Started out the morning on the drive up when I realized the boat was not plugged in all night.. but it ended up working out alright, when we showed up to the launch and there was a 2 hour fog delay. So we plugged in the boat, and got as much juice as we could before blast off.  Blast off was at 9, and off to our spot we went, dropped the trolling motor, put our heads down, and grinded it out all day long. Bites were far and few in between, but when we got bit, it was a good one. I knew my trolling motor was going to die at some point in the day, it was just a matter of time. The winds were howling all day long and was 100% on the motor pretty well until one o'clock when it died. So we put the drift sock out, and drifted around hoping to get bit to get a limit in the boat.. We just couldn't get that fifth bite and ended up bringing 18 pounds to the scale, won big fish, and finished 5th overall. Super fun day on the water, wooooooooop. Now, time to start thinking about and preparing for the FLW canada championship on Big Rideau this September.. Can't wait

Ontario BASS Nation Qualifier

Was really hoping to make the Team this year, But didn’t pan out the way I wanted. Had some boat issues on day one and made some bad decisions, but learned a lot by the end of day 2. Pretty disappointed, but I learned a lot this past weekend.. HUGE congrats to all the boys who made Team Ontario this year. Big thanks to everyone at OBN, all the volunteers, Pete and Marg Garnier for their hospitality, Pure Fishing, my parents for their continued support, and everyone who make the qualifiers possible. Im definitely going to miss being with the team this year.. This is by far the tournament I look forward to the most every year, and I already can’t wait to get at it again next year in Petawawa.
Now, time to start thinking about and preparing for the FLW Championship on big Rideau coming up in September, WOOOP

FLW Canada, Rice Lake - 7th place finish

What a weekend fishing the FLW Canada event on Rice Lake. Me and Dan put in a lot of time previous to the tournament and really wanted to make the top ten finish. Of course cashing a good cheque would be nice, but really all we wanted, was to make the top I0 cut to punch a ticket to the FLW Canada championship on Big Rideau. Smallies is what wins on Rice 90% of the time, so thats what we needed to do to have a good chance at making the top I0, or maybe even having a chance at winning $I6,000. Myself or Danny have never really found some good smallies on the lake, so we had some work to do.. We spent about a week of pre fishing, and found one area on the lake we knew had some good ones around. Going into day one, we were pretty pumped, but were hoping to get a good limit to stay in it for day 2. Its a 2 day event and you gotta catch em good both days. We ran 6 spots on day one but only 2 of them produced our I8.I0 pound bag. We ended up scrapping all of our 6 spots, but 2 of them, and ended up pounding the 2 spots back and fourth on day 2. Right when we caught our I8 pounds on day one, we left those 2 spots for day 2. We figured if we left the rest of the fish, without risking to try and catch 20 pounds and fish the spot out, that if we got I8 a day we would make the cut. On day 2 we rolled up to our first spot and got 3 quick fish in the boat. a 31/2, a 4, and a 2 pounder. the rest of the day was a grind, but we stuck on those 2 spots all day long, fished slow, and ended up culling a couple times throughout the day, getting another I8 pound bag in the boat. We ended up finishing top ten, in 7th spot. We are headed to Big Rideau for the FLW Canada championship!!! Wooooooooooop, Man I love fishing

Bay Of Quinte Largemouth

I took my little buddy Nick Arnott to the Bay Of Quinte in search of some big Largemouth and we had a BLAST. Started the day off pretty slow, but by the end of the day we started to figure something out and caught a few good ones. We were fishing deep weed and trees all day long, which is what the Bay of Quinte is famous for. It is one of my favourite fisheries with tons of quality, healthy fish. I will be on this body of water a lot this year as the Ontario B.A.S.S Nation Qualifier is taking place mid Augest. My favourite tournament of the year. I have made the team 3 times now, and words can't describe how much I want to make it as a boater in my own boat. WOOOOOP

Steelhead Opener 2016

Was a super fun opener with the Arnott boys, but was very tough. Water was low, and not nearly as many fish as I expected. But camping out, eating soup and hotdogs over the fire, and freezing our butts off all night is really what it is all about.. VIDEO DROPPING SOON
