B.A.S.S Nation - Eastern Divisional - Highschool Championship

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE, By far one of the best experiences in my life. Me and my buddy Dan Qualified Last year on the Bay Of Quinte to make it to the states, in Wadington NY. Me, Dan and both of our parents went up for 7 days, Prefished 4 days with our awesome, helpful coach Tony Chmirri. Prefish was amazing.. Once we found a good pattern going, we kept duplicating what we found, and tried to mark as much water as we could for day one and two. Day one comes arround and got our fish before noon, Slowed down on the fishing and tried to find some more new water for day 2. Day one we weigh'd in 23.15Lbs to take the lead for day one at the Eastern Divisional Highschool Championship. Day 2, We struggled.. Had a few stupid mistakes, lost a couple of good fish, and only got a limit of 3 smallies, But they were the right ones. We weighed in 12 and change, which gave us a total weight of 36 pounds both days to take the win. Stay tuned for an Article on Bassmaster.com of our experience in Waddington NY.
A huge thanks to Laurie Charlebois, our youth director Doug Ferguson, our coach Tony Chimirri and everyone else who made this possible

Rip jigging for walleye

What a day! I was fortunate enough to go out and have some fun, fishing with Dan Risorto "Gooch" for the day on Rice Lake. And we sure did have fun! The morning started off pretty slow, but the wind started to pick up and we started to hook some more fish. I was throwing hair jigs all day, and when the hair jig turned off. I started to throw a finesse minnow with a quarter ounce jig head. We caught some good fish, and had a ton of fun!

three more weeks till bass opener! WOHOOOO ><>

Gill Lice

Went out for a fish yesterday and had an awesome day bottom bouncing for more
Staging Steelhead off the shores of Lake Ontario! I came across something pretty gross and harmful to the fish, Called "Gill Lice". It is a trout specific parasite, and primarily the female lice that attaches to the gills and parasitizes the fishes blood stream. People say that it is often related to stressful conditions such as low water and warm water temps. The lice is usually only present on wild fish and not hatchery fish because in the hatchery there is more flowing water and it doesn't support the parasite's life cycle well. Pretty gross eh? I hope not to ever see this again as it is harmful to the fish. They don't get as much oxygen.

Not so Spring like conditions

What an awesome evening, Me and my good friend Danny headed out for some more spring staging steelhead! Conditions were awesome, but didn't feel like spring what so ever! Super cold out today with a little bit of snow. Lake was calm and the bit was ON! we hit a ton of fish, and had a bunch of laughs. Can't wait to get out after school again tomorrow. MAN I LOVE FISHING!

Bottom bouncing for Staging Steelhead

Was definitely quite the weekend... I'm not a huge bottom bouncer fan myself, as i like to float fish in the rivers, but man this was a TON of fun. Fished all day Saturday and Sunday. Had a late start to the day on Saturday and managed to land a few nice fish, including my biggest buck of the year! Was a super windy day, but my FISHBUM soft shell jacket blocked the wind and kept me warm for the day. Saturday night i spent a while tying some bags for all day sunday. Me and my good friend Danny headed down to the lake for first light and it was very slow. We figured that the fish were gonna stay pretty lethargic until the sun came out and warmed everything up a little bit. So we tried something totally different but it didn't produce any fish for us. We went back to lake later around 530 and the fish were pretty active! Lots of fish where landed, it was a super cold night but well worth it. Soon enough the ice is going to thaw and these staging Steelhead are going to go on there journey up the river to spawn. ><>

Quinte GOLD

Such a fun day! Yesderday I went to the Bay of Quinte for 12 hours, and did not land one fish.. Today we went to a different spot and hammered them :) Between the 4 of us, Me, Buck Tytler, Peter Seto, and Yvonne Brown, we iced 22 walleye! The morning bite was the best, but also managed to land a couple during the day and later on in the afternoon right before dark. We caught all of our fish on Buck Shot spoons tipped with a minnow! I don't usually keep fish, but have never ate walleye before.. Today, I also caught my personal Best walleye! I can not wait to get back on the lake for some Quinte Gold! ><>
